Description
Variscite is a relatively rare aluminum phosphate mineral closely related to turquoise in its chemical composition. This material from Utah is noted for its glowing green color, varying in intensity from a light, mint green to a vibrant Kelly green often "webbed" in a gray matrix. Although softer than agate or jasper (somewhere around 5 on the Moh's scale) it takes a great polish and makes wonderful, finished pieces.
