Idaho Sunset Jasper Slab 63

Idaho Sunset Agate offers a huge variety of color and pattern which can be appreciated by any lapidary artist.  This new material found in Lemhi County, Idaho and brought to market by Casey Santee has outstanding pattern including plumes, flames, and tight fortification layers. The material is very hard and will take a glass-like polish. The red and green colors are intense and bold.  Within the general “Sunset Agate” category there are pattern specific names including Wildfire and Midnight Inferno which aptly describe their qualities.

Dimensions: 2" x 1.5" and approximately 7.6 mm thick.  Weight = 37 grams. 

Shown wet.  Not polished. Known flaws are shown as white lines in the final picture frame.
