Emerald Rose Variscite Slab 85

Variscite is a relatively rare aluminum phosphate mineral closely related to turquoise in its chemical composition.  This Emerald Rose Variscite  is primarily found in the Eskisehir Province of Turkey, nestled in the Anatolian region known for its rich geological diversity. The deeply saturated green make it some of the most striking and vibrant variscite available. Although softer than agate or jasper (somewhere around 5 on the Moh's scale) it takes a great polish and makes stunning finished pieces.  

Origin:  Turkey

Dimensions: 2" x 2" and approximately 8.4 mm thick.  Weight = 44 grams.
